SHANNON'S PROFILE AND RESUMEFIRST, A LITTLE BACKGROUND INFORMATION...My name is Shannon Grindler --- my last name is Grindler -- pronouned "Grin-ler" (as in Grin, Smile!) not "Grind-ler" (as in coffee grinds). If you choose to say Grind-ler, you will be among the other 99% of people who say it that way! I am originally from the "metro" area of Fitzgerald, Georgia. I grew up along with 2 older brothers on a state-run fish hatchery called Bowen's Mill. I have joyfully resided in Statesboro since 1996. A graduate of Georgia Southern University, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Finance with an emphasis in Real Estate and began my career immediately after. I have finished the first year of my Master's Degree and have completed both my Graduate Realtors Institute and Certified Residential Specialist designations. In August of 2003, I received my Brokers license and I recently served as the 2007 President of the Statesboro Board of Realtors®. I am happily married to my wonderful husband Jim, who works for Blount, Burke, Wimberly and Hendrix Insurors. We've been married six years and have a "fuzzy" child named Rufus. (Our Boston Terrier) My community activities include volunteering for the Meals on Wheels program, Safe Haven Women's Shelter, Joseph's Home for Boys and Habitat for Humanity. In my spare time, I enjoy photography, reading and traveling. When they invent the 8th day of the week, I plan to do more of those things. DO WE FIT??Buying and selling a home is stressful enough--do you agree? Why add to that by choosing an agent that doesn't fit your needs and your personality? I'll explain the way I operate and you decide if I'm right for you! First, I don't enjoy stress, I don't enjoy conflict...as I said, real estate is stressful enough without having an agent looking for a fight. I'm tough on problems, easy on people -- there are very few issues that are "impossible" to resolve -- why not just work through them without the drama? If you agree, keep reading... Honesty and integrity are everything. I enjoy my sleep quite a bit -- I won't do anything that will keep my conscience awake at night! There is no amount of money worth hurting another person in the process. I've also found that treating others well leads to good referrals AND a good night's sleep. Finally, RESPECT. Aretha Franklin had it right didn't she? I strive to be as respectful of your needs as I can possibly be. In return, I seek clients that are respectful of my needs and time. I am flexible and hard working and available for the people I work for -- I understand that you may need to catch me at home if there's an emergency -- no problem! However if you feel the urge to call at midnight to get a price on a house you saw -- I have several numbers of well-qualified agents you can contact. (smile) I realize that this is the largest transaction most people will ever make, but I don't want it to be the toughest. WHY YOU OUT OF 152?152? That's right. There are 152 agents currently selling real estate in Statesboro, Georgia. You have choices -- your agent should act like it. Let's get real about real estate..... Let's face it, in an extraordinary market like we've been in for the past number of years -- if your agent had a pulse and a key, the house was going to sell. Times are different now. Not bad...just different. These days, buying a house takes the ability to study and examine large quantities of information and large inventories of property. You need to know which properties are a good value for the money, what to avoid and what to look for IN ADDITION to the requirements you and your family have. Selling a home these days requires accurate pricing, accurate market information and SKILLED knowledge of the contracts you're signing. Agreeing on a price is the FIRST step in a transaction, not the last. In summary, you need someone who knows what they're doing. Sounds simple enough doesn't it? Interview your agent. Ask questions. Look at their resume. Remember, we ain't selling Girl Scout cookies here. :)
